As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.

Need a breakthrough

Things seem to fall into place... I got my new car, as prophesied and promised, got together with my beloved with my prayers answered for a sooner schedule. So everything seems good, right? But I feel stuck at work and at the church service... or should I say, I don't feel that I'm moving at the pace that I'm supposed to move.

I get tired easier, haven't been going to the gym consistently (even though I'm not gaining weight, but I'm not losing weight either). I haven't been going to the morning prayer meetings consistently, and I haven't been playing the guitar as much as I wanted to.

Another note, I haven't stay with the same level of hunger for reading God's Word everyday. I'm going through the motions... reading only on par with the church schedule. I remember that I shared on how I would find instruction everyday in reading God's Word. I want to get that again.

Lord, let this be a cry for help to You. I know that Your abundance is more than enough for me and yet I'm so faithless sometimes. What You had promised had surely come into place in so many ways... yet, there are the things that I just need a renewal of directions on... my profession and my service. I need You now even in the midst of my perceived prosperity, because I don't want to just stay here... I want to go where You will lead Your people to the land of inheritance!

Move forward...

Judges 5:15-16

15 The princes of Issachar were with Deborah;
yes, Issachar was with Barak,
rushing after him into the valley.
In the districts of Reuben
there was much searching of heart.

16 Why did you stay among the campfires
to hear the whistling for the flocks?
In the districts of Reuben
there was much searching of heart.

---------------------------------------------
These passages were read on Friday morning's prayer meeting. The entire chapter was similar to a psalm in that it is a song that Deborah composed. Of all the words, these words captivated me...

With all the things that the Lord has revealed to my heart and the goals that I've set in my heart... why did I just sit within the flocks by the campfires to listen to the whistles? I should be engaging "rushing after him into the valley" toward the land and take it as it is God's promised inheritance.

Why am I searching my heart after that it is already confirmed? No hesitation now... we are moving forward. We are moving straight forward. It's time for me to rise up and answer the call instead of listening to the whistles by the campfire.

Lord, strengthen my heart and steadfast my actions!!!

Attack again....

Psalm 73

1
A psalm of Asaph.
Surely God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped;
I had nearly lost my foothold.

3 For I envied the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 They have no struggles;
their bodies are healthy and strong.

5 They are free from the burdens common to man;
they are not plagued by human ills.

6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
they clothe themselves with violence.

7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity;
the evil conceits of their minds know no limits.

8 They scoff, and speak with malice;
in their arrogance they threaten oppression.

9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven,
and their tongues take possession of the earth.

10 Therefore their people turn to them
and drink up waters in abundance.

11 They say, "How can God know?
Does the Most High have knowledge?"

12 This is what the wicked are like—
always carefree, they increase in wealth.

13 Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure;
in vain have I washed my hands in innocence.

14 All day long I have been plagued;
I have been punished every morning.

15 If I had said, "I will speak thus,"
I would have betrayed your children.

16 When I tried to understand all this,
it was oppressive to me

17 till I entered the sanctuary of God;
then I understood their final destiny.

18 Surely you place them on slippery ground;
you cast them down to ruin.

19 How suddenly are they destroyed,
completely swept away by terrors!

20 As a dream when one awakes,
so when you arise, O Lord,
you will despise them as fantasies.

21 When my heart was grieved
and my spirit embittered,

22 I was senseless and ignorant;
I was a brute beast before you.

23 Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.

24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

27 Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.

28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.

It's toward the end of my vacation here in Taiwan and just when I thought I can let my guard down... the enemy found a way to slip through the crack. Last night when I was sleeping, I was attacked spiritually. My mind was awake but my body was if though dead. I couldn't move nor speak (even though I tried to shout) and my blanket was opened up for my body to be exposed to the cold. I prayed immediately in my mind in the name of Jesus to rebuke the spirit, and it receded. I was then able to move and recover my blanket. In the house in Taipei, there are idols set up here in the living room. I saw those the first day I got in and I prayed over myself for protection and God answered. Last night, the arrangement was a bit different. I felt a bit strange when I got back home, but didn't think too much of it. God kept me alert until close to 3 am but I didn't spend the time to pray. I went to bed and didn't pray. I let my guard down.

Praise be to God for His faithfulness. When I resist the devil, he flees. I used worship songs together with God's word to strengthen myself and was able to go to sleep. Then, I was bothered by this terrible dream. How I felt that I was alone... set trapped to... and abandoned. But these are the lies of the enemy. I will seek God and Him alone has the power and strength to save me.

Yes, Lord! In Jesus' name, You have saved me. Covered me with your precious blood and kept my heart pure for You. You will redeem me entirely without fail for there is none that can compare or overcome You.

Can't sleep....

After a day of what I thought would be a victory, I am faced suddenly with the unknown of the future. The feeling of losing control can come at any moment and it started with just a few words, a few incidents, and a few gestures.

One statement suddenly finds its way into my heart: be influential or be influenced. This is from the Sunday sermon earlier. And it's true even in the deepest and most intimate level, I can influence my circumstances or I can let them influence me. All the difference in the world is who and what I have my faith in. Lord, Jesus, it's in You where I rest my faith. The name of the Lord means "salvation." And when I cry out to Your name, you will come and save me. In Matthew 1:21 You said that "the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." Therefore I cry out to you now... and save me from my sins.

You said that You will make all things beautiful in Your time.

Why do I doubt?

You said that You know the plans that You have for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future.

Why do I waiver?

You said to come to call upon You to pray to You, and You will listen to me.

Why do I despair?

You said that You'll do just what you say.

Why do I fear?

Lord, in You I shall have my hope and a future. I will call upon Your beautiful name knowing that you will make all things beautiful. I will pray to You, and You will listen. You will do just what You say!

Thank you so much. I am an unworthy sinner who's saved by the precious blood of the Lamb of God. In my sleep will I dream of You. In my dreams will I get a glimpse of my hope. In that glimpse will I see a wonderful plan You've set out for me.

Oh, pierce the soul of my confusion and uncertainty. You said that in repentence and rest is my salvation and that in quietness and trust is my strength. So let me repent! Rest! and acknowledge and receive your salvation over me. I will be quiet. I will trust! And I will gain my strength.

I have but a few hours to sleep now that it's past 1am. Lord, I want to get up early in the mmorning to praise your name and draw close to you. May this be the norm of my life where I can drink from the fountain of life and be renewed!

In Jesus' name

Amen!

1:14am

Proverbs 3:6
"In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.

By a roadway in the wilderness He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today
