As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. Back to the US: EVA Air's Hello Kitty Gate

It was a short trip, but it was a valuable trip as I've not spent this much time with my families for a very very long time. Lynn and I are actually exhausted by the time those pictures were taken.
Enjoy the pictures.

Family reunited Part III

Today is the last day that Lynn and I will stay in Taiwan. So we met up with dad after the lunch with my aunts, uncles, and my mom at Brother's Hotel.

The food at Brother's hotel is know for its Taiwanese authenticity.

As we say farewell, let me leave with pictures worth your drool.

Going off the tangent here a bit. We went to Taipei main station to pick up my Wii and found that this is going off.

Po, we celebrate your life!

I haven't been to Yi-Lan for probably 30 years. Today was the reason why we came back.

This morning, all my family on my mom's side gather before day break at po's church as we prepare for the service.

Uncle Chu made a tribute to po with his sax. We took the chartered mini bus to the cremation location, ate an all vegetable lunch, picked up Po's ashes, for which I was given the distinctive honor, and headed for Yi-Lan.

Po is to be buried with her beloved husband, my garndfather whom I've never met. Lots of memories came back. But Po will be remembered for the life that she lived and how she has impacted my life as she brought me up since I was one month old.

Family reunited Part II

Had lunch with dad, Peggy, Glenn, and Lynn in the afternoon on this eve before po's funeral service. It has been years since we all ate at the same table with dad.

After the lunch, Peggy and Glenn went back to po's place while Lynn and I went to Gong-Guan to shop for some umbrellas and overcoat. We got a $100NT umbrella. The shop owner tells us that it will break down in 2 to 3 uses (which turns out to be the case) and it was enough to satisfy our needs for the funeral tomorrow.

As a bonus to the visit to Gong-Guan, I got this "sausage wrapped in rice sausage" that is really goos and spicy (see above picture).

Friends reunited

Time is short on this trip back to Taiwan. So we immediately met up with Steve and Emily after Peggy and Glenn landed in the morning. We all took public transportation to the Taipei main station and met up at this Old style Taiwanese themed restaurant (see picture below). To make a long story short. Pictures worth a thousand words tells the journey.
