As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.

Coming back to it

With my time and my thoughts increasingly committed to the changes in the past 5 months (Jadee was born!) as well as the mounting combination of distractions as both my car and Lynn's car suffered damages or vandals, this blog has been left untouched and almost ignored. I wonder who still reads this as even I don't come back to it.

However, as the dust settles, and I have spare 5 or 10 minutes between tasks, I had the chance to look back on what I wrote in the past 3 years on this blog. Surely a lot has changed since. I spend more time on facebook than on blogster. But I still like the room and sense of calm as it's more private that blogster provides.

This morning, I was reading Psalm 90 during our daily morning prayer meeting at work.
v 12 "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Looking back on my past entries, they make me feel that time had stood still as these things seemed to happen just yesterday. So what happened to my recent activities?

Now is a good time to revisit the idea of making everyday count...

Porche Cayman S?

Okok, no, this is not my car. But this is a very nice car indeed. This is my customer's car which he drove over for a diagnostic test and trouble shooting on a traffic controller. I drove this car briefly to get to our destination for lunch. This is the first time I drove a mid-mounted engine sports car and I must say the experience is very good. The car has sports mode that stiffens up the suspension as well as fuel remapping for more spirited drives.

We took a few hard corners and the chassis has very minimal body roll.

The power of the car is good for a daily driver and nice for this 3000 lbs car. Very nice indeed...

First business trip in 2009

Already?

I guess it's a good thing with everything else considered.

Our first Christmas and hot pot in the new apt

For some reason, my craving for spicy hotpot is insatiable as the weather gets colder everyday... hehe

My plan is to eat hot pot everyday during this 1 1/2 week off from work.

Merry Christmas, everyone! He is the reason for the season!!!

2008 RDX Tech

Ok, so it took me a while to upload the photos of Lynn's new car. So far, I've been the primary driver of this car as we plan to transfer her Solara to her mom over the first weekend in 2009. The RDX drives like a sports car. Accelerates quickly and corners well with very little body roll. We are still taking it very easy on the accelerator and iVtec has not kicked in at all so far (4500rpm). The ride, however, is a bit stiff. I guess we'll learn to live with that.

2009 TL

Relax, I didn't buy this elephant looking car. This is the loaner I got from Weir Canyon Acura for our recent purchase of an 08 RDX. Oh, forgot to mention that... Lynn and I planned to get the RDX before the sales tax increase starting in Jan 09 so that we will be ready for the arrival of our baby princess Jadee. The car is actually at the dealer's body shop because there was a scratch on the rear bumper when we took the delivery of the car past Sunday.

We are expecting to return this loaner and get the RDX back tomorrow. So I took a few snaps of the car as a record. The interior of the car looks really nice. The exterior... well, maybe it will take a while to like the exterior. This TL is the non ShAWD version with 280hp. The car handles well through the corners, but is not as fast on the straight line.

All in all, I am happy that Lynn is happy with the RDX. And I'm also happy that we didn't get the TL.
