First update in Taipei
This is the first day that I actually remembered to bring my camera with me as Lynn and I went out on a quest to eat some of the famous food in Taipei. Lynn and I bought some books yesterday from Eslite Bookstore (Ren-Ai store) and one of them is a set of reviews for the best local eateries. So following its recommendations, we took the bus and went to YongKang Street and begin our quest with "Liao's Beef stew noodle."
The book said that this place had lines all the time, sure enough, there was a line outside. This is a good sign.
We got there just in time before a large crowd lined up behind us. It was already 1:30 in the afternoon.
Side dishes, famous too.
Beef Stew noodle, clear broth. Interestinly enough, they don't offer the soy based broth. It was good, but not that good to wait in line for. I think the side dishes were better, however, I could've easily ordered the side dishes to go.
Lynn ordered dried noodles.
After the "lunch feast," (I was SO full) we walked toward YongKang St. to continue the quest for famous little shops.
Before we begin our quest, we made a quick pit stop to take "cleanse" ourselves. To justify our stay, I ordered some donuts and coffee at "Mister Donut" just for show. Okok, we ate some too. But brought back a box.
Alright, on with the quest. Here's the cute baby Lynn.
This Boba drink cart is one of the best ones in Taipei. The secret is in mixture of milk and creamer. Definitely worth a try if you ever had a chance.
Right across from the Boba place is the "King of Taro." We were so full and had to ordered them to go. However, as it ended up, we didn't eat this in time before we leave. So I asked the hotel personnel to toss them out come Sunday.
This Crispy Salted Chicken is right on Da-An St. We waited til all the food had digested and came to get those at night time. Not bad, there was a line for this.
