As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.

Merry Christmas!!! Taipei 101 style

Merry Christmas!!!

Today we went to Si ling for a quick meal and then took off to Taipei 101 to spend Christmas 101 style.

Are you getting hungry? Hahaha...
Strawberry Smooth Ice
Mango Smooth Ice. These are the smoothest shaved ice I've ever had in my life. Well, this was also the first time I had those. It was a good refresing dessert after a lot of walking today.
We then took the metro to Taipei 101. This is the first night view that greeted us.
This is the side view of Shin Guan 3 Yiu
And this is the destination... I can see this building from where I live. So far, I think this is still the tallest building in the world.

This is a very very tall Christmas tree just outside of the Shin Guan 3 Yiu plaza.
And then we passed by Warner Village.
Remember the moving statue in Paris Casino? This is a similar adaptation of it. She is a puppeteer who appeared to be a programmed robot until you walk closer and she began to interact with you.
After about 10 minutes of walking, we finally arrived at the front door of Taipei 101.
For those of you who are wondering who took me there, this is Sherry. I haven't seen her in 2 years. She came all the way from Keelung to show me around town... well, okok, it was more like... she was in the neighborhood and we decided to meet up.

The looking up view of Taipei 101. It's actually not easy to get the entire building into the shot in close proximity. So the picture is kind of blurred.

The 101 Cake. I wonder who's gonna eat that after opening hours.

We took the world's fastest elevator to get to the top indoor observatory floor. It took roughly 47 seconds from 5th floor to the 89th floor. The 91th floor, the outside obervatory, was closed unfortunately for tonight.

It took me a little bit of time to get used to the height. It was kind of scary to get close to the window at first. See if you can recognize any of the landmarks.
As we started to walk back, we passed by a professional singer (so I was told) that was singing on the street. He has a really good voice... it just that it seems that you need much more than just a good voice to actually be famous in Taiwan.
After 101, the scene shifted to some late night chatting at a lounge bar. This is Daniel and Belinda.

Now they just need to fix their sign so that it actually reads, "The World's Fastest Elevator," instead of "The World Fastest Elevator."

You'd think they'd be able to find someone to verify their English grammar for such a high-profile project.
